The Academy called on interested academics registered with the Medical and Dental council of Nigeria (MDCN) to apply for Fellowship of the Nigerian Academy of Medicine (FNAMed) earlier this year. Many applications were received before the deadline of March 20, 2026. The applications were screened by the relevant Specialty Advisory Panels and thirteen applicants were adjudged to be SUITABLE for admission, using the stringent criteria set up. All suitable new applicants and the 9 previously selected but not elected last year were subjected to Election by all current Fellows. After passing through the process as prescribed by the governing tenets of the academy, the top 20 at the election since only a maximum of 20 persons can be elected in a year are hereby elected into the academy. The Academy congratulates them warmly on their election as fellows.
